Welcome to Falconry Logs ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Falconry Logs (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register for an account, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Password (transmitted securely and stored in hashed form on our servers)
• Country and state/region (may be auto-detected via your device's GPS or entered manually)
• Profile picture (optional)
• Profile description/bio (optional)

2.2 Bird and Falconry Data

When you use the App to manage your birds and falconry activities, we collect:

• Bird information: name, species, sex, age, weight, optimal hunting weight (yarak), flight category, and photos
• Hunting logs: date, location (text-based), prey type and quantity, notes/summary, photos, and videos (up to 12 per log)
• Weight control entries: bird weight, food type, food weight, environmental temperature, and notes
• Flight logs (enterprise): date, duration, weather conditions, birds dispersed count, incidents reported count, and notes

2.3 Location Data

We collect location data in the following circumstances:

• At registration: to auto-detect your country via GPS reverse geocoding (foreground only)
• Enterprise sites: GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) and addresses when creating or managing control sites
• Timezone: your device timezone is sent with hunting logs for accurate date/time recording

We only access your location while the App is in the foreground and with your explicit permission. We do not track your location in the background.

2.4 Social and Community Data

The App includes social features. We collect:

• Follow relationships: who you follow and who follows you
• Reactions and comments: on hunting logs
• User reports: if you report another user (reason and description)
• Leaderboard data: aggregated hunting statistics and rankings

2.5 Marketplace Data

If you use the marketplace feature, we collect:

• Product listings: name, description, price, category, and photos
• Seller contact information: phone number (visible to potential buyers)

2.6 Enterprise and Organization Data

If you use enterprise features, we collect:

• Organization information: name, description, and logo
• Member data: names, email addresses, roles, and profile pictures
• Site data: names, descriptions, GPS coordinates, and addresses
• Audit logs: actions performed within the organization, including actor name, role, action type, IP address, user agent, and timestamps

2.7 Device Information

We collect certain device information to provide push notifications and improve the App:

• Push notification token (Expo push token)
• Device platform (iOS or Android)
• Device name

2.8 User Preferences

We store your preferences, including:

• Weight unit (grams or ounces)
• Temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit)

2.9 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically through third-party advertising services, including device identifiers and usage data (see Section 4).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App: create your account, manage your birds, record hunting logs, and enable falconry management features
• Enable social features: allow you to follow other falconers, react to and comment on hunting logs, and participate in leaderboards
• Support enterprise operations: manage organizations, sites, birds, and flight logs for wildlife management teams
• Facilitate the marketplace: enable users to list and discover falconry products
• Send push notifications: notify you of reactions, comments, reminders, and other relevant activity
• Improve the App: analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Ensure safety: moderate content, review user reports, and maintain community standards
• Display advertisements: show relevant ads through Google AdMob to support the free version of the App

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Server Storage

Your account data, birds, hunting logs, weight entries, and other user-generated content are stored on our backend servers. Communication between the App and our servers is secured using HTTPS and authenticated using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with refresh token rotation.

5.2 Local Storage

Certain data is stored locally on your device for offline functionality and performance:

• Encrypted Secure Storage: authentication tokens and user session data (via Expo Secure Store)
• Local Database (SQLite): enterprise data (organizations, sites, birds, flight logs) for offline access, synced to our servers when connectivity is available
• AsyncStorage: user preferences (weight unit, temperature unit)

5.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Locally stored data (SQLite database, Secure Storage, AsyncStorage) is cleared when you log out of the App.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the App. This will remove your personal data from our servers. To delete your account, go to Settings > Delete Account.

7.2 Notification Preferences

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

7.3 Location Permissions

You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Note that some features (such as country auto-detection and enterprise site management) may be limited without location access.

7.4 Photo and Camera Access

You can manage camera and photo library permissions through your device settings. These permissions are required to upload bird photos, hunting log media, and profile pictures.

7.5 Data Access and Portability

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. To exercise this right, please contact us using the information provided in Section 11.

7.6 Additional Rights (EEA/UK Residents)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may also have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Request erasure of your personal data
• Object to or restrict the processing of your personal data
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to such countries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or by other appropriate means. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when the latest revisions were made. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
